Waves of Uncertainty
Raise My Standards.
A consistent man believes in destiny, an inconstant man believes in chance.
We all have dreams… we all want to believe that deep down in our souls that we have some special gift, that we can make a difference, that we can touch others in a special way, and that we can make the world a better place.
At one time in our lives, we all had a vision for the quality of life that we desire and deserve.

We all have dreams…
Yet, for many of us, those dreams have become so shrouded in the frustrations and routines of daily life that we no longer even make an effort to accomplish them.
I know that all my past failures and frustrations were actually laying the foundation for the understandings that have created the new level of living I now enjoy.
Recently the two most powerful lessons I’ve learned that impact me are my quality of questions I ask myself on a daily basis and my emotional management.

Recently the two most powerful lessons I’ve learned that impact me are my quality of questions I ask myself on a daily basis and my emotional management.
When we focus consistently on improvement in any area, we develop unique distinctions on how to make that area better.
How can I take immediate control of my life?
What can I do today to expand, learn, grow, and share with others in a meaningful and enjoyable way?
Raise my standards

Our beliefs are like unquestioned commands, telling us how things are, what’s possible and what’s impossible, what we can and can not do.
I know that anytime I sincerely want to make a change, the first thing I need to do is raise my standards. I need to know all the things I will no longer accept in my life, all the things I will no longer tolerate, and all the things I aspire to become.
Our beliefs are like unquestioned commands, telling us how things are, what’s possible and what’s impossible, what we can and can not do.
They shape every action, ever thought, and every feeling that we experience.
As a result, I know I need to change my belief systems and my standards.
Empowering beliefs, the sense of absolute certainty, is the force behind any great success through history.
Change My Strategy
If I set a higher standard, I can get myself to believe and I can figure out the strategies needed to find a way.
I need to develop a series of strategies that more elegantly, quickly, and efficiently produces the results I desire in my life.

I need to learn how to manage my desire for instantaneous gratification, thus allowing my ideas, my creations, even my own potential, the time it needs to reach full fruition.
Emotional Mastery
Virtually everything we do is to change the way we feel. It’s amazing how often I can work myself into an un-resourceful emotional state, forgetting about the multitude of innate talents I possess to root myself in the moment and calm my own mind.
Masterpieces take time.
I need to learn how to manage my desire for instantaneous gratification, thus allowing my ideas, my creations, even my own potential, the time it needs to reach full fruition. I need to learn how to remain flexible and to change approaches as often as I need to reach the desired outcome I wish for.
How am I going to live the next 10 years of my life?
How am I going to live today in order to create the tomorrow I’m committed to?
What am I going to stand for from now on?
What’s important to me right now, and what will be important to me in the long term?
What actions can I take today that will shape my ultimate destiny?
If I want to direct my life, I must take control of my consistent actions.
In the moments of frustration, anger, heartache, devastation, hopelessness, disgust… did you push beyond your limits, or did you just give up?
I have to decide not only what results I’m committed to, but also the kind of person I’m committed to becoming. I have to set standards for what I consider to be acceptable behavior.

I have to decide not only what results I’m committed to, but also the kind of person I’m committed to becoming.
If I don’t set a baseline standard for what I’ll accept in my life, I’ll find it’s easy to slip into behaviors and attitudes or a quality of life that’s far below what I deserve.
Even if everything goes to hell and no one is there to pick up the pieces, I have to make a committed decision that I will live my life at the highest level.
I decide what I focus on.
I decide what things mean to me.
I decide what to do to create the results I want in life.
I can choose to not allow myself to be directed by stimuli in my environment and instead choose to live life by my values. I can choose to plan ahead. I can set a course for where I really want to go in life and create a plan so I make quality decisions along the way.
I do not have to allow the programming of my past to control my present moment or future.

Reinvent yourself.
I can reinvent myself by systematically organizing my beliefs and values in a way that pulls me towards the direction I want to go in life.
“I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.” - Thomas Edison
I can overcome my fear of making the wrong decision by knowing that I will screw up. It’s part of life. But no matter what decisions I make in life, I will be flexible, I will look at the consequences, learn from them, and use those lessons to make better decisions in the future.
